Tennis elbow is an injury that involves the tendons in the outer part of the elbow. There is the presence of inflammation or degradation of the tendons located in that certain part of the elbow because of overexertion of the muscles and repetitive movements. You can feel a chronic pain in the outer part of the elbow, when you try to flex or straighten your arm and when you lift, grasp, grip or twist something. You can diagnose yourself by doing an elbow test. Just hold your arm and extend your elbow, flex your wrist to make the muscles contract. When you feel pain, it is positive that you have tennis elbow.

You have to support your elbow by wearing an elbow brace. You can buy online, from a pharmaceutical store or from a store that provides sporting goods. Choose the one that will fit your perfectly. You can start wearing it by carefully undoing the Velcro strap. Split the brace on your forearm and adjust it rightfully. Make sure that the splint is placed at the side of your arm, just below the thumb. Place the Velcro strap approximately two inches below the elbow. Fasten the straps around your arm and make sure that the brace feels snug. But then, it must not be too tight so as not to constrict proper blood circulation. Continue wearing the brace for a month even as you sleep. Monitor your condition and the success of the brace. If the symptoms still persists after a month of using an elbow brace, seek medical help. The doctor will diagnose your condition and will recommend a possible treatment for your injury in the elbow.
